 2016 Preview 


       Last year Paul Bryant finished fifth in Class 6A region 4 with a 2-4 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       Since 2010, Paul Bryant has gone a combined 21-41. Their 34.0% winning percentage ranks 48th in Class 6A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Paul Bryant has not won much with a record of 36-96. Their 27.0% winning percentage ranks 55th in Class 6A and 359th in the AHSAA.

       The Stampede are led by head coach Eldrick Hill who is entering his second season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 7-13 over the past two seasons at Paul Bryant. The Stampede have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Hill.

       Coach Hill's overall record as a head football coach in two seasons stands at 7-13 (35.0%).

      

      The Paul Bryant Stampede will play in Class 6A region 4 during the 2016 season.

       It will be an uphill battle for the Stampede if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in Region 4 this season.

       The Stampede open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Tuscaloosa County on Friday, August 19 at Stampede Stadium. Last year the Tuscaloosa County Wildcats finished with an overall record of 0-10 and in eighth place in Class 7A region 3. The closed out the regular season with a loss to Homewood by a score of 34-14.

       Paul Bryant and Tuscaloosa County have met a total of 10 times on the football field. The Stampede have a 0-10-0 record against the Wildcats. They last met in 2021 with Tuscaloosa County winning by a score of 59-34.
